DESCRIPTION:We are open for a public session every Saturday afternoon 2-5pm\, when you can bring your bike to our workshop. We are all volunteers and are on hand to guide you\, and our focus is on helping you to fix your own bike. You don’t need any experience to come along\, just be willing to try. \nIn the workshop\, we have a good range of tools\, new and second-hand parts for you to use. We have set prices for parts\, and we ask for 5 Euro per hour donation to cover the costs of running the workshop and buying tools. \nWe have limited spaces for users to work on their bikes\, so please be aware we can get busy. There are limited spaces indoors and more spaces outside\, so weather can affect what we can offer. \nThere is no shade or shelter in the car park. In case we don’t have space indoors\, please bring whatever you need to be comfortable outdoors.

Priority is given to those who are experiencing distress and hardship\, such as; homelessness\, domestic violence\, young people leaving care or those returning into the community. \nThrough Habitat ReStore\, the charity’s social enterprise\, Habitat also offers individuals essential household items; ensuring vulnerable people can choose what will help them feel more at home. \nIn 2023\, Habitat delivered more than 153 interventions; helping people of all ages and backgrounds to feel safe and secure in the place they call home. \n“K has had a lot of struggles with mental and emotional wellbeing and having something like this done for her has helped to strengthen and support this and hopefully help to feel able to ‘get on top of the house’ again.” – Support Worker \nWe are reaching out to potential partner agencies in the Drogheda area\, to identify and support clients who would benefit most. Join us at the Rediscovery Centre on the 9th of March 2024 where you can bring along your broken item and work together with our experts to help you repair it. There will be experts in textiles\, furniture and bicycles. \nPlaces on the day are on a first come and first served basis. Please find below a list of repairs we can provide. While we can’t upcycle or take on big projects on the day we are happy for you to use your timeslot to get advice on how to complete your project at home. \n  \nThe Bike Team can work on the following repairs with you: \n– Bike assessment \n– Bike fit adjustment \n– General tuning and adjustments \n– Puncture repair and tire replacement of common wheel sizes \n– Mechanical brake cable and common brake pads replacements \n– Mechanical gear cable and common chain/gear size replacements \n– Wheel straightening \nThe Textiles team can work on the following repairs with you: \n– Patching holes in clothing/textiles \n– Taking up hems on skirts\, tops or trouser legs \n– Fixing zips but not replacing zips \n– Replacing buttons \n– While we can’t upcycle or do alterations on the day we are happy for you to use your timeslot to get advice on how to complete the upcycle or alteration at home \nThe Furniture team can work on the following repairs with you: \n– Wooden dining chairs \n– Wooden kitchen chairs \n– Wooden coffee tables \n– Wooden stools \n– Footstools \n– While we can’t upcycle or take on big projects on the day we are happy for you to use your timeslot to get advice on how to complete your project at home

There are limited spaces indoors and more spaces outside\, so weather can affect what we can offer. \nThere is no shade or shelter in the car park. SUMMARY:Fix Your Bike Session with Cork Community Bikes
DESCRIPTION:We are open for a public session every Saturday afternoon 2-5pm\, when you can bring your bike to our workshop. We are all volunteers and are on hand to guide you\, and our focus is on helping you to fix your own bike. You don’t need any experience to come along\, just be willing to try. \nIn the workshop\, we have a good range of tools\, new and second-hand parts for you to use. We have set prices for parts\, and we ask for 5 Euro per hour donation to cover the costs of running the workshop and buying tools. \nWe have limited spaces for users to work on their bikes\, so please be aware we can get busy. There are limited spaces indoors and more spaces outside\, so weather can affect what we can offer. \nThere is no shade or shelter in the car park. In case we don’t have space indoors\, please bring whatever you need to be comfortable outdoors.
