Bicycle tyres and brakes need regular maintenance\, and doing the maintenance yourself will extend the life of your bike’s components and keep you on the road. DESCRIPTION:Join us at The Bike Hub on Sunday afternoon to become a used bicycle UpCycler extraordinaire! No Experience Necessary! \nWho it’s for?\nAnyone who wants to help out their community by creating more cyclists! You just need to be curious about bikes\, you do not need to know anything about mechanics! (sure I didn’t have any before I joined and now I’m hosting these meetups!)\nThis is also a good meetup if you want to help us find donated bikes\, recipient organizations\, or general logistics of delivery. You can help without touching a single bike if that’s your speed! \nWhat to bring?\nClothes you do not mind getting dirty\nComfy shoes\, you will be standing-walking on a wooden floor. \nHow it works \n\nGet an orientation on the shop\, where tools are\, how we match bikes to recipients\, and how we set up for the day.\nGrab a bike and put it on the stand! Learn how we assess newly donated bikes for repair and what the parts of the bike are called.\nTinker! If you’re experienced\, you could probably jump right in on fixing what’s broken. If you’re not\, we got you covered! We’ll teach you the basics and make sure you’re doing things right\nClean up for the day

SUMMARY:Fix Your Bike Session with Cork Community Bikes
DESCRIPTION:We are open for a public session every Saturday afternoon 2-5pm\, when you can bring your bike to our workshop. We are all volunteers and are on hand to guide you\, and our focus is on helping you to fix your own bike. You don’t need any experience to come along\, just be willing to try. \nIn the workshop\, we have a good range of tools\, new and second-hand parts for you to use. We have set prices for parts\, and we ask for 5 Euro per hour donation to cover the costs of running the workshop and buying tools. \nWe have limited spaces for users to work on their bikes\, so please be aware we can get busy. There are limited spaces indoors and more spaces outside\, so weather can affect what we can offer. \nThere is no shade or shelter in the car park. In case we don’t have space indoors\, please bring whatever you need to be comfortable outdoors.

DESCRIPTION:Our DIY workshops are open to all. Come along and learn to fix your own bike with guidance from our volunteer mechanics. \nWe have salvaged parts available if your bike needs them. You can choose to pay for new parts\, or you can access some of our second hand parts and pay what you can afford on a donation basis. We have consumables like cables and oil\, also on a pay by donation basis. \nDIY workshops are every Wednesday night 6-9pm in our community workshop.
