CRNI kicks off new phase of ReMark initiative
In late March, we began a new phase of the ReMark quality mark initiative by welcoming new Project Manager Orla Matthews to the CRNI team.
This funding will enable us to prepare our ReMark quality mark for second hand goods for national roll-out. We believe this will be a game changer in Ireland’s circular economy transition. The funding will be used to streamline the accreditation process through online services, templates and peer to peer networking.
We were delighted to celebrate the start this chapter with a trip to CRNI Members 'IRD Dunhallow' (pictured left), one of the current holders of the ReMark quality mark.

Take part in our Donate Don't Waste pilot!
CRNI has launched the first of three textile collection initiatives in Charleville Co.Cork. Learn more about the initiative and see the press coverage so far here.
The pilot aims to understand attitudes and behaviours around unwanted clothing and home textiles, share information on where and what to donate, and make donations easier through increased donation points and door-to-door collections.
All clothing and home textiles have value and keeping them in circulation for longer within Ireland has the potential to save environmental resources and create local jobs and training opportunities!
Arklow Co Wicklow and Buncrana Co Donegal have also been selected as a pilot areas. Keep an eye on our socials for upcoming launch and collection dates.

OECD launch their ‘Circular Economy in Ireland’ report
In April, the OECD launched their ‘Circular Economy in Ireland’ report. The report analyses the state of play and challenges of the circular transition in Ireland and provides policy recommendations for circular economy policy across levels of government.
It is the result of a two-year policy dialogue between the OECD, the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, as well as a broad range of public, private and civil society stakeholders.
