Addressing economic and social barriers to education

Gateway to Education Limerick provides secondhand school essentials, such as school books, reading books, clothing, and uniforms, at a nominal fee to support parents with the cost of sending their children to school and children who struggle with homework activities.

We welcome donations at store room and office at Unit 1, the Tait Business Centre, Lady’s Lane, Dominic Street, Limerick, V94 83V1. Our shop at No 9 Wickham Street contains a treasure of worldly donated goods can be found.

We also send surplus books to developing countries, where books are scarce and very expensive, to help open the door to knowledge. We run a “Go Do It” project focussed on adult education and empowering people to learn new skills, grow in confidence and gain workplace experience. Finally, our Fun Learning Club is a source of academic assistance and a welcoming community that encourages students to reach their goals.
