www.repairmystuff.ie is an exciting new website directory, developed by Local Authorities, to support the Repair industry in Ireland. For many, purchasing a new pc or new washing machine when an old one breaks is the norm. However, repair and reuse are often a cheaper and most certainly a more environmentally sustainable option. Sustainability, Circular Economy, and Green Economy are buzzwords that many people have heard but maybe don’t understand. However, by opting for repair you are contributing to each one of these principles.

The Directory is simple to use and can easily contribute to you Repairing materials and equipment at home, at work and at play. With over 700 businesses already listed, covering a wide geographical area finding a Repair business is easy. Simply tell the directory what you want repaired and where about you are, and the website will go to work finding suitable businesses that match your criteria.

Since its launch, a couple of categories are more popular that others, with screen replacement, shoe repairs and lawnmower repair the three most popular searches. However, the website covers a wide range of repair categories including large and small appliances, screen repairs, garden equipment, musical instruments, clothes and shoes and watches and jewellery, amongst others. The businesses are in most cases small businesses, so not only are you getting something repaired which benefits the environment, you will also be supporting green jobs in your locality.

As this project is currently funded by Local Authorities and The Environmental Protection Agency, registration for businesses is completely Free.  Once registered and approved you will be connected to Ireland’s largest repair directory. With the ongoing Google support and Social Media campaigns Repair businesses will have a great web profile at no cost.

In 2019, Monaghan County Council, who are administrating the website for the Local Authority Prevention Network, hope to expand the number of businesses listed to 1000 and develop the awareness of Repair in Ireland. So if you want to Repair or you are a Repair businesses check out www.repairmystuff.ie, Ireland’s leading Repair Directory.
