Green Bubble: Diverting 10,000 Square Meters of Bubble Wrap from Waste!

Green Bubble, in collaboration with Sunflower Recycling, has reached an impressive milestone: diverting over 10,000 square meters of bubble wrap away from incineration and export. This achievement is equivalent to 10 tonnes of plastic or 200 bales of bubble wrap. Considering how light bubble wrap is, that’s a substantial amount of material saved!

Green Bubble are providing Ireland a solution to the problem of plastic by diverting it away from landfill, incineration, waste-to-energy and export. They specialise in reusing bubble wrap for moving houses, storing valuables, or other needs. Every part of Green Bubble’s process creates a positive impact, either environmentally or socially.

Cloth Nappy Library Ireland: Carry your own tiny cloth nappy!

The Cloth Nappy Library Ireland (CLNI) has introduced a charming new way to support sustainable practices while reducing waste: Cloth Nappy Keyrings! These adorable keyrings are handmade in Ireland by volunteers using scrap fabric, ensuring that no material goes to waste.

Every purchase of these unique keyrings directly supports the CLNI, promoting a circular economy and reducing textile waste. They’re perfect for adding a touch of cuteness to your keys or nappy bag while supporting a great cause. You can get yours now at The Nappy Market.

Cloth Nappy Library Ireland is a nationwide non-profit that provides cloth nappy loans and local support. We aim to help make cloth nappies mainstream by enabling parents to try them out and get support in what will suit them best, how to use them and where to get them.

Oxfam Ireland: Join the Second Hand September Movement!

Oxfam Ireland’s Second Hand September is back for its sixth year, encouraging everyone to shop second-hand and make more sustainable fashion choices. This year, the campaign is led by none other than Siobhan McSweeney, star of “Derry Girls” who has been a long-time advocate for sustainable fashion.

By participating in Second Hand September, you are not only finding unique and stylish outfits but also contributing to the reduction of textile waste and slowing down the fast fashion industry. Join the movement, shop sustainably, and make a difference for our planet!

Your local Oxfam shop is the perfect place to snap up pre-loved clothes, books, vintage items and lots of other hidden treasures. Every penny or cent you spend in any one of our shops in Ireland helps to support our wonderful work around the world.
