You may know that the CRNI team has been based in various spaces over the years to facilitate our nationwide network. Our current home is the wonderful Tara Building, a beautiful, bright coworking space in Dublin city centre. We were attracted to Tara for its commitment to supporting businesses and workers who are involved in social impact, sustainability, and the creative arts. Taking a look around the space it’s clear that sustainability runs through the DNA of Tara, from its creative environment of reclaimed materials that lends to an inspiring working space, bike-friendly facilities, and its holistic culture and events programme.

CRNI was fortunate enough to be offered a Sustainability Residency as part of the Tara Building’s ongoing commitment to supporting impactful work in Ireland. The residency programme is intended for projects that need space to grow, and offers fully subsidised use of the coworking space for a 6-month period. 2024 has been a key point of CRNI’s development, and so this space for growth was precisely what we needed. Looking back on our time on the Tara Residency, it was the perfect environment to inspire how we transformed CRNI

The Tara Building details their residency programme for projects that need space to grow. The opportunity to access:

  • A beautiful, bright workspace in Dublin city centre
  • 24/7 access to the building and our stunning roof garden
  • Access to our culture and events programme
  • Opportunities to engage with the Tara community
  • Use of event space with Team Tara support
  • Use of meeting rooms

It inspires us to consider how businesses like The Tara Building can show their commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals. When you provide meaningful and practical supports, it can lead to organisations getting what they need to succeed and thrive.

Physical space for social enterprise in Ireland is limited but when that organisation’s activities are also focused on enabling reuse, repair and recycling activities, it can be a limiting factor and impact their ability to grow. How can more businesses provide practical support to help organisations that are working towards a more inclusive circular economy? We think this is a critical time for businesses to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability- let’s get creative, just like the Tara Building!
