Turning Drab Furniture into Fab Furniture, Saving it from Landfill

The Dublin Polishers is led by master craftsmen Jay and Jo, who each have 35 years experience in French polishing, furniture restoration, gilding, and upcycling. Having worked on some of Ireland’s most iconic historic buildings, they combine traditional skills with a passion for preserving quality craftsmanship. Recognised by the National Guild of Master Craftsmen, The Dublin Polishers are dedicated to sharing their expertise through workshops, training sessions, and educational programmes nationwide.

At the heart of The Dublin Polishers’ mission is a commitment to sustainability. Through furniture upcycling and repair, they have saved hundreds of quality pieces from landfill, proving that restoration is a powerful tool for waste prevention. By passing on their knowledge, they aim to inspire a new generation to value and reuse furniture — continuing the tradition of French Polishers being champions of sustainability.
