Denis Naughten TD, Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment officially launched National Reuse Month 2018 in Roscommon (see official press release here). The launch took place in a upcycling and second hand store in Roscommon town, Rummage, which was the perfect place to experience how reuse already takes place and showcased how we can incorporate more reuse actions in our everyday lives. In addition to Rummage’s gorgeous upcycled furniture, items for the photo launch were borrowed from the Rediscovery Centre, Recreate and the Athlone Midlands Simon Community Shop (an ICSA member).
This year’s campaign theme is “Reuse Everyday” and during the month of October, reusemonth.ie will showcase reuse in everyday life: At Home, At Work, At Play. It will provide ideas on how individuals, communities and businesses can reuse with easy to apply online tips or by getting involved in special events taking place all over Ireland.
